Technology Musical Chairs

My classroom at Mexico Middle School has underwent a face-lift this summer, with bits and pieces of technology floating in and out as other teachers have "shopped" in the newbie's classroom; which is apparently perfectly acceptable. I have procured a whiteboard, a television with VCR and stand, and an old desktop passed down from the assisstant principal. With my name and room number smattered all over the above mentioned items in sticky notes, hopefully these are in my room to stay for the school year and won't "walk off!"
The district is holding new teacher orientation this week and educating us in the ins and outs of accessing curriculum standards from the district's website, how to log onto our classroom computers, check our email, and how to use the electronic gradebook. It's a crashcourse I'm grateful for because I would have never figured these things out myself! Countdown to school starting - 3 weeks!!!

I remember you telling me about this during the Fellows presentations; how horrid! I would be so upset. You've taken it very well, though, and I give you the upmost kudos for it.

I don't know when my new teacher orientation is! And I definitely need it. : /

Geography adventures will take us to far-away places!

Check back frequently to see more of the fascinating far-corners of the world that we will explore this school year...
