Boy, am I glad I didn't also try to be an EMINTS teacher this year!
My subject and grade level partner is discovering just exactly how much work the EMINTS program is going to be this year for him. But the benefits for the students are going to be emmense and make all of that extra work worth it! I've been updating my blog for the students with educational websites for them to check out when we work in the computer lab, which loses about one ancient Macintosh a week, on average. Everyone at Mexico Middle School will be so glad when we get the "Great Wall" built, which is designed to create an organizational barrier between the library and the new computer lab which we are getting. My students in Geography have been working frequently in the computer lab researching and recording data on different climate zones around the world, and my Citizenship students have been scrutinizing the city's municipal codes online for their big projects where they write their own public policy. I have to give the students class time to work on things that require the internet because so many of them don't have it at home, and can't get to the public library to use it there. This is a sad fact of life. As was the case two weeks ago, I'm still barely keeping my head out of the water as far as keeping up with Fellows and all the work for the school! I would love to become an EMINTS teacher sometime in the future, maybe that can be my big goal for next year!

Oh how I love Geography! I visited some of your links and they are so interesting!
Being an EMINTS teacher is a great goal, but probably too much for a first year teacher to do both.
Keep us posted on the GREAT WALL!
